A Pair of Liberties

11 Oct 2020

I was detecting on a trail that led off of an old 1800’s farm, the path was very clear and was still used in the modern times. As I made my way down the trail, I noticed a leafy clearing in the trail, and I could see that once long ago, there was another trail. I followed my gut and took the road less travelled by, my first dig on the trail was a shotgun cap. Typical. The next ping was a similar reading, but turned out to be a coin- a liberty head nickel, 1904! The next reading was similar and turned out to be an 1890 liberty head!
