I was at DIV XXII on November 18th and at the growl and smooth sound of the GPX 5000, I thought I had a really nice piece of brass or a bullet of some sort.
Funny thing was that there honestly was about 10 holes directly around me that others had dug. As I dug the plug out of the ground I could not believe the target. I came across what I thought I was an Avon pin or something like that.
When I looked at it closer, lo and behold it appeared to be military pin or something.
With the help of others who were amazed, come to find out I had found a General McClellan Cape Pin AND.....it has 90% of the gild still on it.
A lifetime dream find for me. I am still amazed five days later. I love the GPX 5000, she rocked the entire DIV XXII. Found many bullets and a beautiful Schenkel fuse as well but eh cape pin was the find of the century for me.
