My name is Samuel and I am 17 from Brisbane. One evening my mother and myself decided to have a bit of a relax and head to the local oval for a bit of hunting. I had my uncle's CTX 3030 for a week and I also intended on making the most of that. The night started off slow with the usual spendables coming to the surface luckily for us mostly $1 and $2. I was going behind the soccer posts when all of a sudden beep beep a 12:33 just outside of a $1 or $2. I was taking a step away from it, when I just had this instinct which screamed Samuel you need to go back there and dig that target. I pulled out my pinpointer and didn't have to dig down at all as it was just smoothed down into the mud slightly. I showed the goldy coloured band to my mother and she just smiled and said it was brass. My inner instinct said otherwise but I put it in my pouch and kept going. After a few more coins we called it quits.
When I went home I cleaned out the finds pouch, my main interest was on the gold coloured band. I washed it under a tap and as the mud peeled away the design of a dragon started materialise on the outside of the band and on the inside the numbers also came to light. 995! I could not believe it! My second gold find ever both of which have been 24k and both just practically sitting on the surface. My mum couldn't believe it at first. Her first question was: when can we sell it? I have it safely stowed away on top of my display and that's where it's going to stay. The item and the memories; those are things no one can ever pay for. All up, we found close to $50 at that oval and a few days later I found a florin at an old abandoned house so all in all an amazing week with the amazing CTX 3030.
