I recently moved to Southern Maine from Central Maine. Which means I had to find all new areas to detect. After a few weeks I came across a new location that turned out to be fantastic! An untouched cellar hole and surrounding fields from the 1700's that before houses were built went to the ocean. I found all kinds of awesome things, silver coins, 1700/1800's coppers, buttons, shoe buckles, ect. Well, one day when I was there it was low tide and decided to give the beach a go. After working the beach for about 45min and very quiet except for some loud "17" bottle caps. I decided to head back up to the fields and as I swung around, my Nox have me another loud "17". I decided to dig it, expecting another bottle cap. But it wasn't! As I dug the hole and started to pinpoint, something golden and shiny fell out of the sand. I sat there, staring in disbelief at I was looking at! Staring back at me, behind some sand...was a beautiful golden Lady Liberty! I couldn't believe my eyes, I had just found a gold coin! I plucked it out and gently took a look! It was beautiful! An 1850 $2.50 golden eagle. A U.S gold coin was in my top 3 bucket list coins to find! I couldn't and wouldn't have ever been able to find it without my Nox 600 as single frequency machines hate the Maine coast. So, thank you Minelab for making a great machine that is perfect for all the conditions Maine has to offer!
