My fellow club members (Route 66, Brea CA) and I headed out to the Minelab event Saturday the 18th. We got there about an hour early, and decided to hit the beach while we waited.
After about 3 min using my Explorer SE Pro, I got a good looking target and I dug it out of the sand. To my amazement, I had just found my very first gold ring. The best part is when I got it home I took it to the jeweller, and he said it was an exquisite diamond, very high quality and even though it was only 1/2 carat, the value was $4-$5 thousand dollars.
All because I showed up early for the Minelab event. I made a few thousand dollars not to mention the $50 in silver I found during the hunts and the X-TERRA 705 detector I won during the raffle!!!
