A Deadly Combination

04 Apr 2011

I was detecting an area close to Stanton ,AZ using my GPX 5000 with 8" Minelab Commander coil. I had been finding sub Gram pieces all morning, I was working some decomposing bedrock, got a faint signal. I dug down 6" and I had it, well I did if I could find it, it was so small I could hardly see it, sub grain size, I put it on the end of my finger and took this picture. I dug up a bullet a few hours later, I was tired and started to kick the dirt back in the hole when I remembered a friends advice: always re-check the hole. I had another bullet signal but decided to dig it anyway. The bullet turned out to be a solid GOLD slug 6DWT. Found a total of 10 pieces that weekend. I LOVE MY MINELAB GPX 5000 with the 8" Commander. It's a deadly combination. Dave Lamb - AZ, USA
