Using my Minelab Explorer SE on an old site that I had been detected with a less capable detector years ago that had produced things of what I thought was a baron site. I moved to the lower part of the hill, 19 century and 20 century buttons and thimbles where common. I decided to give it about an hour at the most. As it was button after button I turned over a spoil and seen something gold. I looked at the back end and saw a loop, at that I thought it was a gold button I turned it over it was an Anglo Saxon button brooch 7th cent. Tim Binns - UK
