I almost overthought my way out of this hobby. I bought the 600 after spending 5 weeks working remotely on a beach and thinking this could be a good way for me to get more activity in my life. I was practicing in my yard with loose change to see what ring tones did with different denominations. I had turned on my 600, did a noise cancel on the very first setting and tried them all. after about a half hour of figuring out pennies and nickels sound different from dimes and quarters I decided to just practice sweeping with the same settings. within 15 minutes i found a spot 5 feet from my practice spot that sounded like a nickel sound. I decided to check it out. I couldn't believe it. The detector indicated the find was about two inches down. I used the targeting to narrow the spot and took a few digs with my shovel. After 20 years I found my wedding ring! I lost it while working on the yard of my new house. My wife and I never thought we'd ever see it again. And 2 inches down just a few feet of my practice spot was where it sat for ever. Best first day ever.
