1942 Winged Silver Dime in NZ

21 Nov 2018

Having just upgraded from X-TERRA 705 to an EQUINOX 800 I was testing an old area to see if  X-TERRA had missed anything. After 5 minutes, I had a solid deep signal in some quite boggy soil. I was amazed to see this 1942 Winged Silver dime (San Francisco Mint) pop up from about 10 inches down. Maybe American Service men were in this area during the war, but finding silver dimes in NZ is not a very common occurrence. Thanks to Minelab for a phenomenal detector, which has got me excited again at the prospects of great finds in areas that have been previously scoured by other detectors. Well done guys!
