It was the first time out with my new E-TRAC and I was going along this river that I've detected before with my old detector when I got a clean high hit. I was thinking a coin, but when I dug the hole I couldn't find what was in the hole. I spent like 10 minutes looking! I almost gave up and walked away when I grabbed the last dirt clump and waved it over my detector it went off. I brushed the dirt away slowly and out came this button. It said US on it so I was thrilled but I had no idea what or how old it was till I got home and cleaned it up and looked it up.
When I found out it was from 1820-1830 it blew my mind. I never expected to find something that old in Washington state. I thought only on the East Coast but that just goes to show you never know what going to pop out of that plug.
