"Macuca" from Mexico's viceroyalty era

24 Sep 2021

Hi! I'm Alfonso Quiñones, aka "El Tlacuache".

I got a gofind 44 ten days ago (this is ny first metal detector) . Three days later I was with a friend in a plot of land nearby his house, this was my first metal detecting experiende. At the end of our journey I heard a very nice beep from the 44. I knelt and there it was, a piece of silver with some mark on it. I knew it was a" macuca". Those irregular coins are part of Mexico's viceroyalty era, but when I track more info about it, I found it is 1/2 real Fernando IV, minted between 1621-1665. I'm super happy with my go find 44 and the discovers that I made with it.
