Steve Zazulyk has traveled to more than 20 countries in North America, the Caribbean and Europe to pursue his passion for scuba diving and to promote his passion for discovery diving to the world.
The profession is passed down from father to son
Steve Zazulyk grew up in Ontario (Canada). His father is a professional rescue diver who works for the fire department. "My father was always in the water - in the Great Lakes, inland lakes or in rivers - performing a variety of rescue and rescue operations," he told DiveNewswire, a diving magazine.
He always observed and found many strange things while diving underwater. The things he discovered fascinated me. One time he found a German ship loaded with beer.
I clearly remember that day he came home not only with an interesting story of finding the ship, but also bringing back 400 large bottles of blue beer from the back of a truck that was recovered from the wreck. Thanks to my father, I became interested in scuba diving and treasure hunting at an early age."
In the mind of the young Zazulyk, discoverables were always available and only needed to find them. His efforts confirmed this belief to be correct.
Shortly after owning his first metal detector, he found 10 1-ounce gold coins (1 ounce equivalent to nearly 8.3 gold threads) buried under a tree. This early achievement solidified his future career.
