Perhaps everyone in this hobby prays, Lord let me find a diamond ring, and then spend most of their time finding hazardous objects like fish hooks and tent stakes. So when I discovered a ring in the sand, I was too excited for words. I thought to myself, finally, I may have found a prize to bring home to my wife. Using an Explorer II custom mounted to my Pro Swing harness, I found the ring while hunting the edge of the surf in Jacksonville, Florida (USA). With the first couple scoops I retrieved a sinker and a coin. Before filling in the hole, I made one more swing and heard another target. As I reached deep in the hole, the target looked and felt promising.
After I got the ring home and cleaned it up, my wife and I noticed that in addition to the ring having a brilliant diamond, the ring had a unique stamping on it…it was from Tiffany & Co, and it had a serial code. Then we instantly knew that God had allowed me to find this ring so that I could answer the prayer of someone else. We knew we just had to find the owner. After no response to our ads about finding a ring, we contacted the friendly staff at Tiffany to see if they could track down the owners. Shortly thereafter, I met with the couple – a couple who was in shock at both learning their ring was found and someone was honest enough to return it.
